They engage the children in hands-on activities, teaching them about plants, nature, and responsibility. This program helps instill a love of the environment in the next generation.
Litter Control and Recycling Lectures

These sessions teach students the importance of maintaining a clean environment and how small actions can have a big impact. Through these efforts, the club aims to foster environmental stewardship in the community.
BES Butterfly Garden
The club maintains a beautiful butterfly garden at Brenham Elementary, where 4th-grade students are involved in learning about butterflies' life cycle and pollinators' importance. Members guide the students through gardening, emphasizing conservation and hands-on environmental learning. This project combines education and beautification for the school community.
Garden Therapy
The club provides monthly garden therapy programs at nursing homes around Brenham, bringing joy and therapeutic activities to residents. These programs allow seniors to engage with plants, flowers, and the outdoors, offering both emotional and mental health benefits. It's a meaningful way to bring nature's beauty to those in care facilities.
Arbor Day
Every Arbor Day, the Bluebonnet Garden Club plants a tree within the City of Brenham, contributing to the city's green spaces. This annual tradition emphasizes the importance of trees in sustaining the environment and enhancing the community’s natural landscape. The tree planting symbolizes the club's ongoing commitment to conservation.
City of Brenham Yard of the Month
Each month (for 10 months of the year), the club presents the Yard-of-the-Month Award to a homeowner in Brenham with an exceptionally beautiful yard. This award promotes pride in landscaping and beautification throughout the community. Winners receive recognition for their efforts in maintaining an attractive and well-kept outdoor space.
Business Beautification Recognitions
The club recognizes local businesses that contribute to the beautification of Brenham with their "Tip of the Hat" award, given bi-annually. This award encourages businesses to enhance their storefronts and landscapes, contributing to a more appealing and welcoming community. It highlights the positive impact of attractive public spaces on the city.

This is an achievement that our group is very proud of.
Elementary School Art Poster Sponsorship
The club is pleased to present and then sponsor Brenham ISD fourth graders in the annual art poster competition hosted by the Texas Garden Clubs Inc.
